Brisbane is located in the south east of Queensland and it is considered centre of Queensland business. It currently belongs to the most growing Australian cities.
The most known of Brisbane is undoubtedly South Bank. It is located in the heart of the city. It hosts over 150 events each year. The most known attraction is called The Wheel of Brisbane. People who decide to visit will enjoy beautiful views from the top of the world! Tourists can also enjoy walking under the Arbour – under a canopy of brilliant flowering bougainvillea. The area looks the most beautiful when it is hot and flowers are blooming. Another well recognized attraction of South Bank is Goodwill Bridge. It is pedestrian connection between South Bank and Brisbane City. Every week 70 thousand people walk through the bridge to enjoy South Bank views. The area is also full of shops, parklands, art galleries and museums. There are also famous South Bank 5 cinemas located in the middle of the area.
Since Brisbane is located over Brisbane River – the longest river in south east Queensland many tourist attractions are connected with it. There are cruises regularly departing from its various locations around Brisbane CBD. A trip on a ferry like that brings unforgotten memories. Especially Kangaroo Point Cliffs and Botanic Gardens are sources of great views.
Brisbane also offers great range of shopping centres and restaurants. The majority of them are located in Brisbane CBD. Other ones can be easily accessed thanks to train network – trains depart in various directions every couple of minutes. The city is also full of cultural variety and therefore any kind of food can be tasted while walking in the CBD.
Nature lovers will enjoy Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary – world’s first and largest koala sanctuary. There are over 130 koalas in the sanctuary. Tourist can enjoy taking photos while cuddling koala or feeding kangaroo. They can also encounter large variety of Australian animals, all located in natural settings resembling their natural environment.
Subtropical climate with a relaxed culture.Brisbane has beautiful Botanical gardens with Kangaroo Point just a ferry ride across minutes from CBD. I love South Bank Parklands and restaurants. I was able to find part time job which helped me with getting new experience.
